They would not be allowed to own any possessions or property and any married woman would in fact become the possession of her husband, free to do with as he pleases, and once the Bill was approved unmarried women would have 24 hours to find themselves a husband or they would be arrested and detained until an ‘owner’ can be found for her. His rise to power was unexpected, but what was truly shocking was how far he would go to make sure he kept that power.
